“A Very Dirty Weekend behind the clubhouse”

SATURDAY October 5th (with possible overflow into Sunday)

We are going to complete the work started at the beginning of this year, to clear the back of the clubhouse, cut back the brush on the bank and move the logs, to allow proper ventilation of the very damp back-wall of the clubhouse.

The ultimate idea is level and gravel the floor and to roof part of the area in, to give us a mast store once it has dried out. Last year we got a large part of the area cleared and the cesspit has since been cleaned out, so hopefully we can complete the job over the next few weeks in time for the winter.

A secondary project will be to start getting a coat of paint on the Safety boat shed to hold it together pending a decision on its future (or lack, thereof  ).

Susan has volunteered to do “pub grub in the snug” and no doubt, if Thornbury are around, there will be beer flowing as well.

Start 10 am, finish around 4pm with a break for lunch.

Please bring:
Your safety gear: spade / shovel ; Wheel-barrow if possible; fork /rake etc.

On another topic: could cruiser owners please let me know their plans for bringing their boats ashore and length of time storage will be required.

Many thanks,

Kathy Kilbey
Rear Commodore

  1. Ok guys as I am going to be lunch provider supremo I need to know how many people I am feeding. Definitely no peanut butter sandwiches, maybe pork pie and crisps if there is a call for these. I can do a ploughman’s – cheese, pork pie or ham and salad. Or chilli con carne.

Please email me with your name.
